Laura Dern will give the laudatio honouring George Clooney, Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement

Academy Award winner Laura Dern (Jay Kelly, Marriage Story, Inland Empire) will give the Laudatio honoring George Clooney, on the occasion of the awarding of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement to the American actor and director, on Wednesday September 2^nd in the Sala Grande of the Palazzo del Cinema (Lido di Venezia), during the Opening Ceremony of the 83^rd Venice International Film Festival of La Biennale di Venezia, starting at 7 pm. 

In 2025, Laura Dern was part of the cast of Jay Kelly by Noah Baumbach, in competition at the 82^nd in Venice, starring George Clooney. Previously, Laura Dern attended the Venice Film Festival multiple times with Haunted Summer (1988) by Ivan Passer, October Sky (1998) by Joe Johnston, Dr. T & the Women (2000) by Robert Altman, Inland Empire (2006) on the occasion of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement to David Lynch, Marriage Story by Noah Baumbach, for which she went on to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, and more recently with The Son (2022) by Florian Zeller.
