Extant Leaves applies common image processing techniques to digitally excavate archives of fossilised leaves from paleobotanical collections. Ecological knowledge inscribed in our Earth’s geology is extracted from cryptic catalogues and refreshed to give dusty data new life. Ancient intelligence becomes tangible and extant: reanimated artifacts for a digital age.
