We need to transform how we build: from wasteful, carbon-intensive methods and materials like bricks and concrete to sustainable, zero-carbon, zero-waste building. That means building with bio-based materials that store atmospheric carbon in reusable components.
WikiHouse is a modular building system comprising digitally-fabricated timber blocks that can be manufactured in small factories, then rapidly assembled on-site to create high-performance, zero-carbon buildings in days, or even hours.
The WikiHouse system is open source, meaning it is not tied to a single business. It is a new, shared vernacular, developed by—and for—the entire industry. It is the “brick” of the twenty-first century.
