Inspired by Pope Francis and his encyclical Fratelli Tutti, the installation pays homage to the universal values of love and peace shared by religions around the world. Made from the reclaimed wood of an abandoned baita from Pavicolo, in the ltalian Alps, it finds new life as a place of reflection and connection.
Rooted in the recognition of a shared human experience and a commitment to a hopeful, interconnected future, the installation in all its simplicity serves as a vision for the future, where fraternity represents the awakening to a shared destiny and the spreading of life through dialogue and connection. The installation transcends its origins as a structure, becoming a space where individuals can reflect on the beauty of collective human experience, the strength found in dialogue, and the resilience of hope in the face of division. Standing as a physical and metaphorical meeting point, it invites visitors to pause and reflect on the values that bind humanity together. The reclaimed wood reflects the passage of time and the resilience of tradition. By repurposing this material from a disused hay barn, the work not only honors its origins but also champions the potential for renewal and transformation, reminding visitors of the cycles of life and the ways in which humanity is linked to the natural world. After a temporary stay at the Biennale Architettura, Fratelli Tutti will reach its final destination in the Alps, at 2,000 metres altitude.
