Angelo azzurro (My First Day of Summer)

Set over the course of a long summer day on a beach between the railway and the sea, the film follows Alessandro as he navigates his body, the bodies of those around him, and the emergence of his first desires.

With Angelo Azzurro, I set out to explore the suspended space between childhood and adolescence. The protagonist confronts the bodies of others and the uncertainty of his own identity; suspended between attraction and bewilderment, he is drawn towards something he is not yet able to name.
It is a fragile landscape, where the body comes before language and desire merges with the urge to grow, to become someone other than oneself.
