Episode twelve of the Podcast La Biennale on Air

A focus on the 83rd Venice International Film Festival (2 – 12 September), with an introduction by the Artistic Director Alberto Barbera, an exclusive feature with the Oscar-winning composer (The Brutalist) Daniel Blumberg, a jury member for the Venezia 83 competition, and a tribute from the Archive to the two Golden Lions for Lifetime Achievement George Clooney and Ellen Burstyn, in Episode twelve of the Podcast La Biennale on Air. The new episode also features Kader Attia, an artist participating in Biennale Arte 2026 and Bruno Forzani, the French director interviewed in the new issue of La Biennale di Venezia Magazine. In the new episode of La Biennale on Air, a specific focus is dedicated to the coming 83^rd Venice International Film Festival, to be held on the Lido di Venezia from 2 to 12 September 2026. In an original contribution, the Artistic Director Alberto Barbera talks about the themes of the new edition of Biennale Cinema, offering an overview of the new films and the guests that will be attending.

Daniel Blumberg, the Oscar-winning composer of the score for The Brutalist, who has participated in many editions of the Venice Film Festival with films by Brady Corbet, Mona Fastvold and Gianfranco Rosi, returns this year as a member of the jury for the main competition Venezia 83. In an exclusive feature, he talks about his long relationship with the Venice Film Festival and the city of Venice, and offers an original point of view of the new edition.

This will be followed by a tribute to the Golden Lions for Lifetime Achievement of Bienale Cinema 2026 George Clooney and Ellen Burstyn, which draws directly from the Historical Archive to present clips from press conferences of previous years, in the first case for the film The Ides of March (2011) directed by Clooney himself and in the second Pieces of a Woman (2020) by Kornél Mundruczó.

The episode is further enriched by a contribution by artist Kader Attia who talks about his participation in In Minor Keys, the 61^st International Art Exhibition conceived by Koyo Kouoh, and by an exclusive excerpt from an interview with French director Bruno Forzani, conducted for issue 3/26 of the Biennale Magazine, Pandemonium, out now.
