Final Cut in Venice: the call for the 14th edition is now open

Final Cut in Venice provides concrete assistance to complete quality films from Africa, as well as Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen. Deadline for applications: 9 June 2026.

La Biennale di Venezia announces that the new call for Final Cut in Venice opens on March 10th, the deadline for submitting projects is June 9th 2026. The Venice Production Bridge is supported by the European Commission’s MEDIA Fund.

The Final Cut in Venice program will take place from September 6th to 8th  2026 as part of the Venice Production Bridge of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival (2 - 12 September 2026).

Since 2013, Final Cut in Venice has provided concrete assistance to complete quality films from Africa, as well as Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Yemen breeding talents and awards.

To participate in the 14th Final Cut in Venice, fill in the pre-selection online entry form available on the website www.labiennale.org, and send the materials to the email address finalcut@labiennale.org on or before June 9th 2026.

The 14th edition of Final Cut in Venice will consist of a three-day program (September 6th to 8th 2026) on the Lido di Venezia during the 83rd  Venice International Film Festival, in which the working copies of selected films-in-progress will be presented to producers, buyers, distributors and film festival programmers. There will be opportunities for networking, encounters and meetings in which directors and producers will be able to engage with the participants in the program. Individual meetings between the teams of the selected films and the professionals will be organized on September 8th  2026.

Only Industry pass holders will be allowed to attend the screenings: producers, distributors, operators, buyers, festival programmers, representatives of the institutions and others invited in advance by the Festival management.

The Awards

Final Cut in Venice will conclude with the awarding of prizes in kind or in cash, the purpose of which is to provide economic support for the post-production phase of the films. On occasion of  the tenth year, La Biennale di Venezia will give a prize of € 10,000 to the best film in post-production. The La Biennale di Venezia Prize will be attributed by a jury composed of three members named by the Festival Director, while the other prizes will be awarded by final and irrevocable decision of the Festival Director, with Final Cut in Venice supporters.

The 83rd Venice International Film Festival, directed by Alberto Barbera and organized by La Biennale di Venezia, will be held on the Lido from September 2nd to 12th 2026.
