Our design explores the delicate balance between preservation and development, inspired by Egypt’s oases—a microcosm of global sustainability. Visitors engage in an interactive “game” mirroring real-world challenges. The mirage symbolises elusive harmony, questioning whether balance is achievable. Inspired by Popper’s words, “The future is open … we all contribute to determining it”, the installation stresses shared responsibility in shaping the future. The fragile oasis is a powerful symbol of the complexities faced by ecosystems worldwide, connecting Egyptian culture to imminent global themes.
