Description
To combat climate change, Europe has set an ambitious goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. The project explores whether insulation practices are merely a box-ticking exercise to meet European targets or if they could serve as an opportunity to address social and spatial challenges. It highlights the tension between ambitious international goals and the daily struggles of individuals. In Estonia, most apartment buildings are privately owned, with owners forming associations responsible for upkeep. Decisions are typically driven by figures on an Excel spreadsheet, where euros dictate the course of action. While after the renovation utility bills may fluctuate, the overall spatial experience often remains unchanged.
