VAMO is a catalyst for showcasing the multiple lifecycles of natural materials. A hemp rope tensile network and upcycled wooden hoops are interlaced to create a flexible bell-shaped structure clad in bio-based materials. The vegetal, animal, mineral, and other post-consumer waste materials that make up the cladding have been processed into familiar architectural materials. VAMO is a lightweight and transportable structure that will be relocated to Switzerland after the Biennale. By embracing disassembly and reuse, VAMO challenges traditional notions of permanence, envisioning architecture as adaptable, regenerative, biodegradable, and circular.
