The Solar Cooker is an object without design developed by PhD students and researchers from the Sun Institute of Material Science in Parkent, Uzbekistan. It is part of the didactic Solar Kitchen platform, containing an array of small cookers and concentrators, assembled with the scope of popularisation of the institute’s big solar furnace, which was built between 1981 and 1987 to study material behaviour at extremely high temperatures. The kitchen exemplifies on small concen- trators the potential of the big furnace for research on sustainability, agricultural, and industrial production.
