Manameh Pavilion reinterprets the Gulf manameh—a traditional elevated seating structure designed for shade and ventilation—to address contemporary concerns of sustainability and energy efficiency. By integrating wind-catching techniques with modern technologies, the design offers an innovative solution to climate adaptation while preserving the cultural significance of the manameh. Central to the project are open canopies and wind towers that are designed using passive cooling principles. The towers utilise convection currents to create natural airflow, maintaining cooling efficiency in open environments through geometrically refined openings. The material palette emphasises sustainability and aesthetics. Fabric-based solar panels generate renewable energy and provide shading. These materials are chosen for durability, flexibility, and their ability to minimise waste.
