La Biennale on Air

Podcast

La Biennale on Air is the brand-new official Podcast of La Biennale di Venezia – your backstage pass to a cultural institution with over 130 years of history. In under 30 minutes, each episode takes you behind the scenes of La Biennale’s seven Artistic Departments – Art, Architecture, Cinema, Dance, Music, Theatre, and the Historical Archive – through conversations with artists, curators, thinkers, performers, and cultural trailblazers. Blending rare archival treasures with highlights from today’s Festivals and Exhibitions, the Podcast uncovers hidden stories, new ideas, and different perspectives. Rooted in Venice but open to the world, La Biennale on Air offers a monthly journey into untold stories, ongoing projects, and the voices shaping culture – across time, disciplines, and borders.

Episode 1
September 2025

In the pilot episode of La Biennale on Air, we dive into the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, sail aboard the floating platform AquaPraça, revisit Aldo Rossi’s legendary Teatro del Mondo, dance alongside herds of life-size puppet animals with the Biennale College Danza dancers, get a preview of the Biennale Musica 2025, and browse the latest issue of the Biennale Magazine. This first episode unfolds through discoveries and encounters that cross disciplines and generations – with contributions from, among others, Alberto Barbera, Caterina Barbieri, Guillermo del Toro, Werner Herzog, Jude Law, Carlo Ratti, Benny Safdie, and Charlotte Wells.
