Kalle Nio & Fernando Melo - Tempo
Description
Finnish illusionist and visual artist Kalle Nio and Brazilian choreographer Fernando Melo collaborate for the first time, exploring time: its acceleration, its deceleration, and those moments when it seems to stand still.
At the centre of the performance lies an apparently ordinary event that gradually transforms into something extraordinary, revealing the fragility of life through moments of falling, stumbling and near accidents. Accompanied by the music of Samuli Kosminen, Tempo blends text, movement and captivating stage illusions in which rhythm reverses, gravity disappears and the laws of nature dissolve. Dreamlike scenes alternate with rhythmic compositions and the haunting text of Harry Salmenniemi. Through magic and movement, the performance invites the audience to pause, reflect and truly experience the present moment.
