13 short films will compete for the Orizzonti Award for Best Short Film. 2 short films will screen Out of competition.
Orizzonti Short films
The line-up has been finalised for the Orizzonti Short Films International Competition of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival (September 2 – 12, 2026) of La Biennale di Venezia, directed by Alberto Barbera. The selection presents the world premiere screenings of 13 short films, competing for the Orizzonti Award for Best Short Film, assigned by the Jury of the Orizzonti section and the world premiere screenings of 2 short films Out of competition.
The official screenings of the selection will take place on September 10 and 11, 2026. In total, La Biennale received 2,500 short films, 205 of which from Italy.
