parameters of drift
parameters of drift is the premiere of alys(alys)alys’ first solo live performance, developed over three residency periods in Venice during spring, summer and autumn 2026. Conceived as a hybrid of composition and improvisation, the work approaches the city as a set of changing conditions. Weather, tides, light, population density and seasonal transformation inform a repertoire of patterns and presets. Using a hardware-based setup centred around a Korg EMX-1, the project resists the pattern-based logic typically associated with the drum machine. A series of water panels creates an environment that unfolds alongside the music, drawing attention to the drifting qualities of sound and light.
Fruits
Every banger entails “N” musical artists. Any microphone, any identity. The right combination is dictated by functions and economic patterns. There is no local music industry, no niche indeed. Minimal construct equals content; material infrastructures do the rest. For FRUITS, Mechatok’s investigation into IP and copyright meets an equally market- driven materiality. Reflecting on the current status of live performance, the cost of its production, and the physical exploitation of musical carcasses as live ghosts, the work is performed using as many microphones as are available on the day itself, turning scarcity and budgetary elasticity into the very conditions of the musical act. Rather than playing amid the carcasses of the music industry, Mechatok plays across its spines.
Funk Mineiro
DJ Anderson do Paraíso presents a DJ set rooted in funk mineiro, the style of baile funk that emerged from the streets of Belo Horizonte in the mid-2010stens. One of the sound architects of this music, he combines electronic elements with classical instruments to create a radical minimal sound that underlines silence and builds an atmosphere of suspense and mystery. His work stretches the boundaries of baile funk while remaining grounded in the rhythmic energy of the dance floor.
