The Atlas of Popular Transport tells the story of sixteen cities worldwide that created missing data about their popular transport systems. By leveraging mobile technology, local actors in each city mapped the routes and stops of their popular transport networks and shared this data by enabling downloads, uploading it to Google Maps, and designing analogue maps.
The Atlas of Popular Transport highlights how democratising data can foster empowerment and participation.
