Recycling Intelligences is an installation exploring how machine learning can enhance architectural intelligence in social housing design. Using a GAN model trained on high-quality Spanish housing proposals, Recycling Intelligences taps into a vast, often-overlooked archive of architectural knowledge. This repository offers insights into housing typologies, coexistence models, and design trends, reimagining housing for diverse populations amid climate challenges. The installation features a 12-square-meter table with 370 dynamically backlit 3D-printed layouts—both original and AI-generated— accompanied by explanations of the AI’s processes.
Recycling Intelligences fosters critical engagement with synthetic data, blending human and machine creativity to reframe housing design as a space for innovation and reflection.
