Seek was a Plexiglass-encased, computer-controlled environment full of small blocks and inhabited by gerbils. The gerbils would move the blocks around, while a robotic arm would try to learn from the gerbils’ actions and rearrange them to align with their objectives. The goal was to create a computerised system that could help architects engage with the complexity of urban dynamics.
