The Cretan house typology emerged in direct response to the land and available raw materials. Shaped by local techniques, its form and articulation are defined by simplicity, adaptability, and modular growth. Inherently sustainable, it offers insights into how architecture once harmonised with the environment, serving as a lesson for contemporary design.
