Humans and nature can co-exist harmoniously within our cities if we design systems that fundamentally challenge long-held anthropocentric attitudes. City of Plants comprises three key elements: a sensor-equipped base, a living landscape encased in five bubble-like skins, and an interactive sound and lighting experience. Environmental sensors capture the real-time living conditions of plants as well as detect the vibrations of visitors’ footsteps, all of which are transformed into sound and light. The installation reimagines and redefines our interactions with nature through a harmonious dialogue mediated by artificial intelligence, where every element, movement, and sensation blends into a cohesive sonic and visual ecosystem.
