How the 19th international architecture exhibition is structured

The Exhibition is divided across two venues, Giardini and Arsenale, both equally important and complementary to one another. All tickets include ammission to both venues. The visit can start at either venue.

Each venue consists of two sections: one dedicated to the International Exhibition Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective. curated  by Carlo Ratti, and one dedicated to National Participations.

Giardini is the original site of the Biennale di Venezia events, where National Pavilions were also built from the end of the 18th century.

Arsenale is a proto-industrial archeological complex, in which, starting in the 14th century, the ships for the Venetian Republic’s fleet were built. Today, Arsenale also hosts National Participations in its historic spaces, recently restored by La Biennale di Venezia.

Please note that this year the Central Pavillon at Giardini will be closed to visitors due to restoration work.

You can download the Bloomberg App (https://app.bloombergconnects.org/z7NSDoU2Asb) to access real-time services at the Exhibition and information about the artists and works on display.

When you visit the venues, take advantage of the “active catalogues”, i.e. the Biennale staff present along the International Exhibition, to get information about the displayed projects.
