How We Live. The artists Rada Boukova and Lazar Lyutakov reflect on the concept of the centuries-old traditions of crafts with the large-scale industrial production of standard and accessible articles that intrude into the contemporary living environment. The building element in their works is the serial principle of the module; however, its monotony is refracted into individual, specific and unique modifications by the artists.
Both artists’ experience of different cultural realities makes them conscious of the social implications of materials. How We Live deals with the constant renegotiation of the hierarchy of values such as productivity, quality, and utility in today’s world.
