description

Isole del Silenzio offers a sensory and contemplative experience in which Kan Yasuda shapes a mineral garden as an inner space. Silence, simplicity and essentiality become both matter and presence, inviting visitors to a slower, more meditative perception.

The exhibition path begins with the video Beyond Form, which introduces the atmosphere of the show and the marble-working process. From there, visitors enter the main gallery, immersed in near-total darkness, where the white floor enhances the sense of purity. Ten sculptures are arranged like “islands” within this inner garden: their oval and circular forms interact with light differently depending on the viewpoint, while the cavities in some works amplify the sense of contemplation and stillness.

Kan Yasuda establishes a dialogue between hardness and softness, form and void, offering a reflection on “non-matter”.

At the centre of the exhibition, a balance unfolds between fullness and emptiness, density and lightness, in a space where time seems suspended and serenity takes shape.
