Synopsis

Davka is a teenager who lives in the decaying Soviet buildings in Ulaanbaatar. With his classmate, Anuka, they talk about manga and tease each other about sex. When Davka encounters an older woman, his ideas about intimacy and his view of relationships are forced to change.

Director’s Statement

Everywhere in the world, but especially in my country, it’s easy to trespass upon a boy’s emotions and boundaries. The culture of masculinity dictates that boys don’t express any kind of emotion too much. With this film, I wanted to depict how a violent event in a boy’s life subtly consumes him as he struggles to comprehend his emotions and body.
