Synopsis

Marianne is getting ready for a dreaded family dinner when two mysterious young girls appear, wanting her to play with them.

Director’s Statement

This film is inspired by the way childhood trauma lives on inside us and fragments the psyche. I wanted to explore the traumatised mind as an alternative state of consciousness that shifts your reality and how you view and experience the world. In bringing past harm into the light, it was important to me that the film feel tender and beautiful, yet spare and matter-of-fact. I am grateful to the actresses in the film, who worked with such bravery and compassion. For our two youngest, it was their first film.
