Origine
Located within the Sale d’Armi of the Arsenale, ORIGINE is conceived as the beating heart of the Biennale Musica 2026: a space for deep listening, encounter and exchange, reflecting the Festival’s fundamental principles. In line with the concept of 2025 edition’s LSD Centre, this space functions as an informal meeting point, inviting artists, audiences, and staff to gather, rest and dream. The programme hosts live concerts, listening sessions, screenings and talks.
Its name and spatial design – developed in collaboration with the visual artist MFO – evoke the mother’s womb: a pulsing, generative interior where the noise of the outside world is filtered, softened and transformed, like sound perceived by an embryo. This spatial metaphor shapes the room as a threshold condition, reorienting listening toward interiority, interaction and collective attention. Here, smartphones and personal devices are set aside. Silence is not framed as deprivation, but as activation of perception and attention.
