Poems of Paradise - It ceased to hurt me, though so slow
A few years ago, in parallel with writing my texts, the work also began with the body.
I created a kind of performative vocabulary through practices that guided the work that would be performed on stage.
In this workshop we are going to do some practices that are part of the research for the final chapter of the Cadela Força trilogy, where strange knots are formed between sexual violence and art history trough tree different  theatrical shows.
Following the Dantesque chronology, it's time to enter the corners of Paradise.
Fables, aspects of the chorality, angels, vampires,  poetry is the language to be spoken, Emily Dickinson, songs, all forming the reverse of pedagogy. What matters here is the law of the Wolf.  What comes after violence? More violence?
NOTE: This workshop touches on subjects such as violence, sexual violence, sexuality.

TAO DANCE COMPANY
23 July, 11 am > 12:30 pm
Sala d’Armi G
Tutors: Tao Ye or Duan Ni
ALL LEVELS

Over the last seventeen years since establishment of TAO Dance Theater, the company has continued to explore the body and gradually accumulated a complete set of original training techniques - Circular Movement System. At the same time, the company spares no effort to promote public education.
“Awaken the body and treat the body as a teacher. Every movement is asking questions to this body, and then it will tell you whether you can do it, and also tell you your feelings and experiences on the emotional level. This process is very direct and very transparent.”
All groups of people can find a way to return to the body at TAO STUDIO: children, the elderly, young people and middle-aged people. Bodies of different ages will have different states, and any different body needs attention. The focus on the body actually points to freedom in the end - the body itself is a constraint, so how to find freedom through exploration? Limitation and freedom are interdependent. When you start to use your body, you will understand the mystery better.

PLAYERS
Presented via games, this workshop intended for everyone, relies on a variety of educational formats. The collective approach of the workshop helps encourage the development of concrete tools to increase attention and encourage structured thought around the concept of being present. Yoann Bourgeois designed the Players’ Workshop to assemble a group of artists from different fields with a simple directive to “play with one another.” The Players’ Workshop is a nomadic research space questioning living art and it forms the basis of the company’s artistic approach, serving the development of its activities. It establishes a research site and clarifies a singular relationship with performing arts.

MARCOS MORAU
30 July, 10 sam > 1 pm
Sala d’Armi G
Tutor: Marcos Morau
ALL LEVELS

"In a lonely place"
"The path of those who fear reaching the goal will easily trace a labyrinth." - Walter Benjamin

Throughout their career, both choreographically and in composition, Marcos Morau and La Veronal have distinguished themselves by a specific language, a lucid look at the combination of various languages that rub against each other and where movement is situated at the centre of the image. For this workshop we are going to work on two levels:
On the one hand, we will move from the methodology associated with movement, a specific guide of tools linked to improvisation and composition that serve as a guide so that any type of creator/performer can appropriate them and make them their own and unique. The assimilation of these codes, far from constraining creativity, offers resources, landscapes and states that allow the drawing of a rich and complex body that serves as a tool for choreographic research.
The space for reflection and creation based on ideas in space will be offered. We will relate to ideas, places and situations, always offering wide margins so that each creator or performer can find their own universe.
In this way, we will explore the articulated body and space, abstract territories with infinite readings and where we will seek to generate spaces to create, analyse and debate the results obtained or the process itself.

Description:
In this workshop, we'll journey through key phrases from my solo piece, breaking down the movement vocabulary and discovering some of the the underlying intentions and emotions behind each gesture. Participants will be encouraged to interpret the choreography in their own way, experimenting with dynamics, rhythm, and spatial choices to make the movement truly their own.
It consists of three parts:
1. Learning sections of the repertoire, exploring the technical and expressive aspects of the movement.
2. Delving into the creative process behind the choreography, understanding the motivations and ideas that shaped the piece.
3. Experimenting and playing with the material, encouraging each dancer to adapt and transform the movement according to their individuality.
