La Biennale on Air, the new Podcast created by La Biennale di Venezia makes its debut. The first episode is available for listening starting today, Wednesday 24 September, on the major platforms (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Music / Audible) and on the dedicatede page. The Podcast will be released monthly in the form of 30-minute audio episodes in English and will offer access to all the Departments of La Biennale, sharing content from the Exhibitions, the Festivals, the Special Projects and the collections of the Historical Archive with segments recorded by the Artistic Directors, by artists, filmmakers, performers and other personalities in the cultural world. The first episode features contributions from Alberto Barbera, Caterina Barbieri, Guillermo del Toro, Werner Herzog, Jude Law, Carlo Ratti, Benny Safdie, Charlotte Wells, and more.
The project
La Biennale on Air was conceived with the aim of expanding and innovating the online presence of La Biennale di Venezia, making its offer even more accessible, dynamic and relevant to a young and international audience. It is aimed primarily at an international listenership of young adults – Millennials and Generation Z – increasingly in search of innovative experiences and content accessible on digital channels. The Podcast may likewise represent an opportunity for further inquiry and research for students and aficionados.
The contents
Each episode will contain original contributions, testimonies, interviews and insights from national and international guests who have taken part in different forms in La Biennale’s events. Each episode will explore topical issues tied to the Exhibitions and the Festivals underway and to all the activities organised by La Biennale throughout the year.
Episode #1
The first episode starts with the recent 82nd Venice International Film Festival, which ended on September 6th, before moving on to the coming 69th International Festival of Contemporary Music (11 – 25 October). The other activities featured in this episode are Aqua Praça, a Special Project of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition (10 May – 23 November 2025), an original conribution by Aldo Rossi from the Historical Archive of La Biennale, the project The Herds with the young dancers of Biennale College Danza and issue 3/25 of La Biennale di Venezia Magazine.
