Mongolian Literature Reading Program
On the occasion of Where Splendid Horses Run,the fifth stage of the Special Project of La Biennale Historical Archive – International Centre for Research on Contemporary Arts, The Wind Makes the Sky. La Biennale di Venezia in the Footsteps of Marco Polo, curated by Luigia Lonardelli and dedicated to Marco Polo’s journey on the occasion of the celebrations marking the 700th anniversary of his death (1324–2024), in the spaces in front of The Fine Arts Zanabazar Museum in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia), Amfibio, a structure designed by Istanbul-based artist Cevdet Erek that has been part of this special project since its first stage in Hangzhoum will be presented. For the occasion, from 24 to 27 June, Amfibio will serve as the stage for a programme of readings curated by the Mongolian Writers’ Union: the Mongolian Literature Reading Program. For four days, voices and sounds from Mongolian literature will alternate: from oral poetic tradition, through written literature and landscape lyric poetry, to contemporary experimentation.
