Princess Isatu Hassan Bangura - Great Apes of the West Coast
Description
As an attempt to compose a love letter to her people and to re-discover her West-African roots, Great Apes of the West Coast is a raw and powerful Afro-futuristic solo performance, that tells the story of the West-African culture through the voice of a woman born and raised there.
It is the tale about bringing the sound, the voices, and the language of a West-African tribe to Western theatres. Princess Isatu Hassan Bangura takes a trip down memory lane to craft a new identity and retell her personal story from a new perspective.
