Reservoirs of Venice explores the city as a computational medium by examining the dynamics of physical phenomena and their capacity to process information to predict daily patterns about the city. Physical reservoir computing is an emerging field that examines analogue modes of computation for building self-learning systems. Reservoirs of Venice expands this framework to create dynamic self-learning systems that can reveal hidden patterns in the city, using Venice as its data source, computing agent, and energy source. It offers a more environmentally friendly alternative to data centres and expensive deep learning hardware.
