Press Accreditation

Introductory note

For the second consecutive year, La Biennale di Venezia, on the occasion of the Venice International Film Festival, aims to carbon neutrality. This involves reducing and offsetting the emission of carbon dioxide through targeted actions that require the involvement and attention of all Festival participants. We would like to thank you in advance for your collaboration in achieving this ambitious goal, which will be reached through the individual behaviour of each of us.

1. Categories

Accreditation passes for press, radio-television, photographers, and press attaches, will be reserved to media professionals provided the application forms satisfy the accreditation requirements. In detail:

 

Print press

· a letter on official headed paper signed by the editor-in-chief of the publication sending the journalist to cover the Festival; the letter must specify the frequency of the publication (daily, etc), the circulation and the area of distribution;

· a copy or link of articles written for the previous Festival (if they have not already been sent) or a couple of  recent articles written by the journalist for a new application;

 

Online press

· a letter on official headed paper signed by the editor-in-chief of the publication sending the journalist to cover the Festival; the frequency with which web pages are updated and average number of daily hits per site must be specified;

· a copy or link of articles written for the previous Festival (if they have not already been sent) or a couple of recent articles written by the journalist for a new application;

The accreditation is reserved to specialized websites (cinema/entertainment).

Social networks will not be taken into consideration.

 

Radio / Television

· a letter on official headed paper signed by the editor-in-chief of the network sending the journalist to cover the Festival; details must be provided on the type of programme (periodicity, scheduling, name of the programme) audience, and broadcasting area; names and functions of the members of the journalistic team.

· The pass for technical operators is free of charge and does not give access to screenings;

· a copy or link of the videotape recordings of tv programs made during the previous Festival, if this has not already been sent. Links of recent tv shows in case of new request;

 

Photographers

· a letter on official headed paper signed by the director of the photographic agency or by the editor-in-chief of the publication which is sending the photographer to cover the Festival. We do not accept freelancers;

· a copy of the photographic documentation made during the previous Festival or copy of a couple of recent published photos stating the photographer’s activity;

The Photo pass is free of charge and does not give access to screenings.  It cannot be issued if in possession of a press badge or other pass.

The procedure for the official appointments (photocall and red carpet) will be communicated when the accreditation is confirmed.

 

Press attaches

· a letter on official headed paper signed by the head of the production or distribution company specifying the title of the film/films (and related Festival section) represented by the press agent.

The press pass is reserved exclusively for publicists of films screened in the Festival sections.

2. Applications

Only applications for accreditation with the necessary documentation will be considered.

Please note that the deadline is August 16, 2022.

Badges are issued at the full discretion of La Biennale di Venezia, taking into account the regulations for registration and the limited number of available seats.

 

The code for access to the online accreditation form will be sent when the accreditation is accepted.
Requests which have simultaneously been sent to other registration offices asking for other typologies of accreditation (Press, Industry or Professional), will not be taken into consideration.
The Pass is valid for the whole duration of the Festival.
A Press Pass allows access to screenings as marked day-by-day in the programme.

Registration fee: 60 euros.

The accreditation card can be purchased only in advance by credit card, payment at the press desk will not be possible. Online payment will close on 27th August at 2:30 pm (CEST).

In the event of cancellation, the payment of the badge cannot be refunded.

In case of loss or theft, the duplication of the badge will be made upon presentation of a notification  of the police department and a new payment.

 

Note on the embargo
Reviews of films can be published only when the first official public screening of each film has begun.
