Filmed outside the International Space Station (ISS), this awe-inspiring feature offers cinematic VR footage that will leave you breathless. Fly over the Earth and witness the profound Overview Effect—the realization astronauts experience when they witness our planet from low Earth orbit. Gain a deeper understanding of our planet’s place in the universe and the importance of protecting it for future generations. With a full 360° open perspective you’ll be left breathless by unobstructed vistas of Planet Earth.
Positioned at the nadir of the ISS, this incredible journey offers a perspective few have ever seen. Part of the Emmy award-winning Space Explorers, an ambitious series that chronicles the life of astronauts training for and on life-changing missions aboard the International Space Station as humanity prepares to return to the Moon... and beyond.

Main Creators’ Statement

With Space Explorers: Blue Marble Orbit 1—the first of a trilogy—we invite you to step out of the International Space Station and fly over Earth.
Produced and filmed in the vacuum of space, this cinematic virtual reality film—a collaborative effort between Felix & Paul Studios, NASA, the Canadian Space Agency, and the ISS US National Lab—provides a transformative view on our home planet—an experience known to astronauts as the “Overview Effect”. Watching Earth from space, either in reality or virtual reality, sparks a profound understanding of our place in the universe and a sense of unity to our Blue Marble. This experience offers a powerful, yet peaceful moment of contemplation.
