
The 80th Venice International Film Festival opens on August 30th and will come to an end on September 9th.
The 80th Venice International Film Festival is organised by La Biennale di Venezia and directed by Alberto Barbera. It will take place at Venice Lido from 30 August to 9 September 2023. The Festival is officially recognised by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Association).
The aim of the Festival is to raise awareness and promote international cinema in all its forms as art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue. The Festival also organises retrospectives and tributes to major figures as a contribution towards a better understanding of the history of cinema.

The programme presents ten film classics recently restored by the major film libraries around the world, in the original language version with subtitles in Italian. Each film will be introduced by an expert and followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience. From 2 March through 17 May at 7 pm, at the Cinema Rossini movie theatre in Venice.
