Performers: Experimental Performance

Biennale College Musica 2021
Experimental Performance:
turntablism/controllerism and live electronics applied to pre-recorded voice

The workshop is open to young experimental performers, DJs/turntablists/controllerists and live electronics performers interested in experimenting with pre-recorded voice.

The selected performers will have the opportunity to realize an experimental performance under the supervision of the Artistic Director of the Biennale Musica, Lucia Ronchetti, supported by different tutors.

The selected performers will present their works within the Biennale Musica (17-26 September 2021).

The workshop will consist of three different stages. During the workshops the participants will learn techniques connected with the pre-recording voice and the live treatment of the voice. The first stage will be focused on the conception of the project, under the supervision of the tutors, while the second will be focused on the work in the CIMM (La Biennale di Venezia Centre for Computer Music and Multimedia) Studios; the third stage will be dedicated to the rehearsals and production of the new project.

The voice material can be any kind of pre-recorded voice files. In case new samples are needed, the selected composers can collaborate with Andreas Fischer.

The Biennale College Musica team under the supervision of the Artistic Director of the Music Department will be in communication with each performer throughout the whole process of ideation and realisation of the project, from April to September 2021 and will also be available for suggestions and revisions.
