Composers - Production of a radio play

Biennale College Musica 2022
Composers of a radio play

New project of a radio play for Italy’s Rai Radio 3 inspired by “Sounds of Venice” by John Cage (1959)
https://johncage.org/pp/John-Cage-Work-Detail.cfm?work_ID=191

The workshop is dedicated to young composers interested in radio drama and radio play.

The new work by the selected composer will be presented within the Biennale Musica (14-25 September 2022) and broadcast live by the Italian radio channel, Rai Radio 3.

The selected composer can choose the dramaturge or librettist for the new project and will get the opportunity to create his/her world premiere in different stages:

The first stage will be aimed at the conception of the project; afterward the selected composer will be given the possibility to work in the CIMM Studios (La Biennale di Venezia Centre for Computer Music and Multimedia) and record the sound material in the city of Venice; final stages will focus on the production of the new project.

The Biennale College Musica team will be in contact with the selected composer throughout the whole process of composition (from March to September 2022) and will be available for suggestions and revisions of the new project.
