RESONANT VESSEL: DESCRIPTION
This site-specific performance by FUJI|||||||||||TA is a sonic and spatial exploration that seeks to access an unknown dimension through the interplay of water, sound, and architecture. Renowned for his distinctive approach to instrument design and acoustic composition, FUJI|||||||||||TA reintroduces water into his practice for the first time since 2020, responding to the unique context of Venice. His latest set, A School of Sardines in the Pipe, is a stripped-down, minimalist approach to his custom- built pipe organ, exploring air as a sonic phenomenon. For the first time, he integrates this with the element of water. The venue itself is envisioned as a kind of spaceship, with water functioning as a resonator, generating a deep resonance that encompasses both the audience and the space itself. This piece invites listeners to dive into unknown frequencies by attuning to the sounds of water and immersing themselves in the roaring currents of air. Transformed consciousness will be the key to piloting the spaceship. All matter, space, and bodies are waving within the universe.
SUNN O))) LIVE: DESCRIPTION
SUNN O))) are the cult drone metal duo whose monolithic sound conjures a sense of the transcendent and transformative power of distortion, resonance and volume. Working together for over two decades, the duo of Stephen O’Malley and Greg Anderson has redefined the possibilities of heavy music, dissolving the boundaries between metal, ambient, and experimental composition. The duo composes in pure and primaeval riffs of temporality, layering massively heavy structures of sound pressure. The performance is shaped by long-form tonal architecture where duration takes on mass and creates an experience of glacial maximalism though physical sound. The show is an encounter with sound that feels like a transformative and intensely communal ritual. Their performance arrives in Venice for the first time as
