The  Kids’ Carnival

Programme

The 14th International Kids’ Carnival of La Biennale di Venezia will take place from Saturday February 11th to Sunday February 19th 2023 in two spaces: one in Venice (Ca’ Giustinian, San Marco 1364/a) and a brand new space in Mestre (Parco Albanese, Bissuola).

In addition to the traditional venue in Ca’ Giustinian (Venice), which hosts the creative workshops for schools and families, the Kids’ Carnival, thanks to the collaboration with the City of Venice, will branch out to Mestre this year, to the Centro Civico in Parco Albanese (Bissuola) with a new musical section featuring concerts and workshops for schools and families in the spaces of CIMM (Centre for Computer Music and Multimedia) of La Biennale.

In particular, starting at 4:00 pm on Sunday February 12th and on Sunday February 19th, the Teatro del Parco Albanese will be the venue for two concert/workshops: Favole in Musica, three tales by Italo Calvino set to music by the students of the Liceo Musicale Pigafetta in Vicenza, and Su il sipario; i musical per giovanissimi!, a performance focused on the world of musicals, created by the young students of the Accademia di Musica Giuseppe Verdi in Venice. There will be make-up workshops at these events, and in the adjacent bar space, the children participating in the events will be offered a free cup of hot chocolate at the end of the shows.

The Biennale Kids’ Carnival will hold its traditional free activities – with reservation required –  open to schools (on weekdays, 13-17 February, from 10 am to 4 pm) and to families (Saturday and Sunday, 11-12 and 18-19 February, from 11 am to 6 pm). 3400 students have already registered for the workshops, from schools of every level.
