Voting Procedures for the Visitors’ Lions

for a participating artist in the Exhibition In Minor Keys by Koyo Kouoh  and for a National Participation.

Visitors’ Lions

With the opening to the public on Saturday, May 9th, voting begins for the Visitors’ Lions of the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. These awards will be granted to an artist participating in the International Exhibition In Minor Keys by Koyo Kouoh, and to a National Participation of the 61st Exhibition, based on the preferences expressed by the public.

Voting is open to ticket holders who have visited both exhibition venues (Giardini and Arsenale). Visits to the two venues will be verified through the tracking records of the ticketing system. Once the use of the ticket at both sites has been confirmed, La Biennale will send a voting link via email starting from 24 hours after entry to the second venue. The voting system guarantees anonymity. Ticket holders may cast only one vote for each of the two awards in a single session.

Voting is open for the entire duration of the event, from May 9th to November 22nd, 2026, and the results will be announced at the conclusion of the 61st Exhibition.

Regarding the Lion for a participating artist, artist collectives will be identified as single participants, as per the official list of the Exhibition In Minor Keys. All National Participations present at the 61st Exhibition are eligible for the Visitors' Lion for a National Participation, as per the official list.
