La Biennale on Air celebrates its first anniversary with the release of the podcast’s 13th episode

La Biennale on Air, the podcast by La Biennale di Venezia, celebrates its first anniversary with the online release of its thirteenth episode. Featuring an excerpt from an interview with John Landis for issue 3/26 of La Biennale Magazine, where the director reflects on his filmmaking across horror and comedy. The episode includes exclusive contributions from director May el-Toukhy and actress Mathilde Arcel—winners of the Golden Lion and the Coppa Volpi, respectively, for the film Woman Unknown—as well as director Ilya Khrzhanovsky, awarded the Silver Lion for Best Director for DAU. It also features further insights from Sophie Fiennes, Slavoj Žižek, and Steven Knight. Additionally, Caterina Barbieri presents the 70^th International Festival of Contemporary Music (A Child of Sound, October 10–24, 2026), under her artistic direction. In the new episode of La Biennale on Air, an exclusive excerpt is featured from the interview that legendary American director John Landis gave for issue 3/26 of La Biennale Magazine, titled Pandemonium. With his signature irony and the clarity of a master filmmaker, Landis reflects on the fine line between horror and comedy that defined several of his masterpieces, such as An American Werewolf in London (1981).

The episode also highlights exclusive contributions from key figures at the recent 83^rd Venice International Film Festival. It opens with director May el-Toukhy and actress Mathilde Arcel, awarded the Golden Lion for Best Film and the Coppa Volpi for Best Actress, respectively, for Woman Unknown.
