The projects of Cartografia Negra are born out of the desire to tell stories: their stories, the stories of Black Brazilians who have been erased from the official narratives of Brazilian cities, described only through the lens of slavery. Through their work, they bring the stories of the Africans, diasporic peoples, and Afro- Brazilians who built São Paulo.
