Synopsis
In 1900, a weather-beaten sailboat wanders aimlessly in the Atlantic Ocean far from home. Onboard is William Avery: a broken old skipper convinced the Age of Sail is over, that he has no place in a world taken over by steamships. Lara, a young girl who has fallen overboard from an ocean liner is rescued by Avery. She must convince Avery he can come back from the point of no return.
Director’s Statement
It’s much more like theatre that happens all around you, but goes places theatre could never dream of. I’ve been impressed with Google Spotlight Stories’ commitment to original stories, and how they support the storyteller’s vision. I’m honored to collaborate with them and bring an exceptional story to life that is worthy of this new experience. I want to take you to a place that a movie can’t quite capture, something you have to see in VR. Being on the open ocean, to me, is one of those places.
