Nuestros días más felices
Agatha, 74 years old, and Leonidas, 36, maintain an absorbing mother-son relationship: Agatha never fell in love again and Leonidas does not dare to build a life outside the doors of the family home. One day, Agatha suddenly wakes up in the body of a little girl: as herself, but at the age of eight. The only possible solution after having cut off all ties with the outside world for fear of giving explanations, will be to call Elisa, Agatha’s 38-year-old other daughter, who despite having become independent a long time ago, will return to the family home to repair wounds that remain open.
Old age as a return to childhood, to dependency, both physical and emotional. The fear of a lifetime of dying alone. To play with that fear, to grab it, to displace it, and present it in a surreal situation. To explore family ties and their limits: to what extent do I exist outside my parents, outside my family context? What happens when my parents die? Or for parents: what happens when my children grow up and I no longer have the role of caring, providing? When can I return to resume my life? And if I do so, isn’t it too late? Tree characters who have not been able to continue their lives, who have not found or dare to face happiness: that slippery feeling we all dedicate our lives to catch.
