Synopsis
Christopher embarks on a transatlantic voyage as a passenger on a cargo ship. His hopes of finding out what lures so many men to sea sets him on a journey into solitude, fantasy and obsession.
Director’s Statement
After embarking on the real- life Cargo ship La Traviata, I developed a deep love of opera which led me on a wild journey to discover the music featured in the film’s score, Schubert’s song cycle Die schöne Müllerin. The film’s release comes at the bicentenary of the music, composed by Schubert in 1823.
