Synopsis
The day they move into a new neighborhood, the Feral family plan to look as normal and friendly as possible. But their son, Philemon, is not an ordinary teenager. When he gets closer to his new neighbour, Camila, his thirst for blood grows and his difference becomes impossible to hide...
Director's Statement
This story is directly inspired by my family and my teenage years. Genre was the only way to tell it. It is a dark, dramatic, romantic and exhilarating film about someone desperately trying to fit in and to find answers through love. It also talks about marginality and conformism, family sacrifices, outbursts of anger, wild desires... and the savagery lying beneath the surface of ordinary Western life. Take a sunny, beautiful quiet suburb in France. Ordinary families in an ordinary town. Green gardens. Joyful BBQ’s and sweet music. Smiling faces. Add in new neighbours. The son is strange, disturbingly handsome and shy. Sickly pale. Mix it up with thieving, lying and biting, and see what happens.
