Pepitos: The Beak Saga is an immersive storybook native to VR that delves into the timeless themes of love and friendship, with a unique twist. The story follows Pepitos who is confronted with a difficult decision when two strangers arrive on his planet to claim his magical beak for themselves. The core message emphasises the importance of collaboration and acceptance in a world where choices are shaped by personal life experiences. Innovative cinematography techniques and vibrant visual effects breathe life into the narrative, inviting viewers into a world of fantasy where every frame bursts with colour. This experience challenges how stories are delivered, aiming to seamlessly transition TV animation into the realm of virtual reality.
My goal for this experience was to bring a fresh perspective to immersive storytelling through a harmonious blend of humor, drama and unique visuals.
The aim was to transport the viewers into a magical world where we could explore complex themes and emotions without overwhelming them. At the heart of this narrative lies the conviction that embracing cross-cultural collaboration, even amidst divergent worldviews, holds paramount importance.
While Pepitos, Prie, and Robo-Beak may originate from a distant universe, their tale unfolds as a testament to the shared human experience of being faced with difficult choices. Behind the scenes, it was truly wonderful to work with an outstandingly talented team who also shares the values explored in this project.
