The Jolly Roger is the pirate flag: a transnational, transcultural, extra-territorial symbol under which communities fighting for freedom recognise themselves.

The show conveys a powerful narrative through eight wooden ladders used to recreate mountains, valleys and markets. Onstage are wind instruments and traditional percussion; and 11 performers, outstanding actor-singer-dancers.

This mise en lecture focuses on the unease of a generation, articulated through an intimate and private journey, in a world that held together Sept. 11 attacks and an interrupted episode of Melevisione, a popular Italian children’s TV show.
